Curriculum Vitae

Since 2012, I have held the chair of Comparative Public Administration and Policy Analysis at the German University of Administrative Sciences Speyer. In 2013, I became Jean Monnet professor – a distinction awarded for my expertise in European integration and EU institutions. Before that, I was full professor at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (2009-2012) and associate professor at the University of Konstanz (2004-2009). I studied in Mannheim, Vienna, Frankfurt am Main and Berlin. I graduated from the Humboldt-University in Social Sciences (1996) and received a Master in Politics and Administration from the College of Europe Bruges (1997). I conducted my Ph.D. at the European University Institute in Florence in (1997-2000). From 2000 to 2002, I worked as a post-doctoral fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Research on Collective Goods in Bonn. I also spent two years as senior expert in European Affairs at the prime minister’s office of the German state of Hesse from 2002 to 2004.
